"Wesafari– Seattle local band consisting of frontman Rick Wright, bassist Casey Alexander, drummer Baine Craft and Trina Mills on vocals, keys and percussion – offered up a final performance at Neumos Sunday night along with Jeremy BurkandPufferfish.
As Wright ships off for a move to Washington D.C. at the end of the month, it was a bittersweet goodbye for band members, who recently released their second album, Sea Survivors." -

Wesafari will be making one final performance before our trusty Galactronicsphere blasts us back into outer space where we'll explore uncharted corners of the universe
(TRANSLATION: I'm moving to DC in late April to be near family and explore a new career direction, so this will be Wesafari's final show in Seattle! -rick)SUN..APR 17..7PM..$10..21PLUS

WESAFARI..PUFFERFISH..JEREMY BURK
Rather than an ending to Wesafari's output, this change will enable us to increase our recorded work and give you all more to enjoy. So keep your eyes on our website, which will be our main interface with you. I'll be updating it with new songs and albums, as well as artwork and articles regularly.
It's true we emerged from the ocean with Sea Survivors just months ago, the Galactronicsphere IS in fact a planet and belongs in space, not on, Earth. So if you've been putting off coming to see us or you want to come, celebrate the good times we've had, this is the moment. You'll also see locals Jeremy Burk and Pufferfish, two acts who'll make the night a memorable one and maybe even give you a new reason to celebrate.
I can't express enough how much we appreciate the support Seattle has, given us the last 7 years. Thanks.

That's right, kids.

Seattle, Washington:
Wesafari vs. theCrocodile, round two!
This is becoming our favorite place in Seattle to play, what with the huge stage, the great sound system, the pizza, the green rooms, and the totally rad crowds we get to party with there. This time, an old friend's new project, Lazer Kitty, invited us to share the bill with them and Gems.
This is a mysterious show, people,
full of mysterical mystery and mystrousness, and maybe even mist. Hear new and unusual Wesafari sounds! See the bizarre fashion choices of your favorite Seattle band!
What will you find there? Who will you become...?
Tonight we're playing a different kind of set at Tractor Tavern in Ballard, like Sea Survivors in an alternate, acoustic dimension.
KEXP today picked Matchbox as its podcast Song of the Day! Check it out and while you're at it, sign up for their weekly podcast to find out about bands and artists you won't hear about anywhere else.
Yesterday, Ball of Wax'sLevi Fuller posted a beautiful Blog of Wax review of Sea Survivors. And Last month, another awesome write up of wesafari slipped right under our noses, but now we've got it and you've gotta see Mike Kelly's blog!
We've just been featured on two music blogs in the last week. First, a solid review of Sea Survivors on Linesthroughlines, an East coast blog who's top song and album picks of 2010 are worth checking out as well.
The other feature is a video of wesafari on CampRevival. These guys came and filmed us playing Hiccup live in a glorified garage, and we really like the result.
Come party with us at the Comet in Capital Hill on January 22, where we'll kick out some quick and dirty rock n' roll, and then on February 23 at the Crocodile for a sequel to our record release there last month.
Welcome to the future. 2010 was the sequel to 2001, but it ended there. 2011 is uncharted territory.
Wesafari is working on new ways to connect with you. We're planning shows in Seattle each month this year, touring to different cities and festivals in the summer, making a video in the next couple months, and even starting work on a new album. Or 3.
For now, enjoy playing around with our new website. And if you don't have our latest record, Sea Survivors, yet, you can get it here.
